Meet Tim Hagen
A Coach Who Believes in People First
Tim is a pioneer in workplace coaching is one of the few people to initially master coaching leaders to apply coaching. His unique blend of training content, along with coaching services and artificial intelligence support platforms, helped him in progress coaching provide a unique opportunity for leadership coaches to expand their leadership.
Leadership Coaching Should Feel Human
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking,
“I’m leading people, but no one really taught me how to do this…”
You’re not alone.
Most leaders are promoted because they’re good at their job—not because they’ve been taught how to coach, communicate through conflict, motivate different personalities, or give feedback that strengthens relationships.
That’s where Progress Coaching Leader comes in.
We help leaders discover their voice, build confidence, and learn how to guide others with intention, empathy, and clarity.
And we do it through conversations—not lectures or pressure.
Hi, I'm Tim. I'm Glad You're Here.
I’ve spent more than 30 years helping leaders, teams, and organizations build healthier cultures—one conversation at a time.
And here’s what I’ve learned again and again:
People grow when they feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
I created Progress Coaching Leader because I wanted to give leaders something practical and human—a coaching approach that wasn’t corporate, complicated, or filled with jargon. Something that leaders could use the very next day.
I don’t teach “perfect leadership.”
I teach real leadership—the kind that shows up in messy moments, tough conversations, and everyday interactions that shape a team’s culture.
If you’re looking for coaching that’s honest, supportive, and rooted in genuinely caring about people… you’re in the right place.
(And yes, I still get excited every time a leader tells me, “I tried that question you gave me… and it worked!”).
How It All Started
Years ago, I kept seeing the same pattern inside organisations:
- Leaders lacked coaching tools.
- Employees wanted growth but didn’t know how to ask for it.
- Cultures talked about “development”… but didn’t have a system to support it.
So I began building one — piece by piece.
I tested different methods, refined techniques, and spent thousands of hours coaching leaders at every level.
Out of that journey came a simple but powerful coaching approach called QALMS.
It’s now helped organizations across the country create cultures where:
- Conversations are safe
- learning is normal
- coaching is constant
- and people actually feel supported.
Not bad for something that started with a simple idea:
“What if coaching just felt more human?”
Real Coaching. Real Conversations. Real Results.
I listen first
Coaching isn't about telling you what to do—it's about understanding what you're facing.
I personalize everything
No two leaders are the same, so no two coaching plans should be either.
I meet you where you are
Whether you're confident, overwhelmed, new, or experienced… I move at your pace.
I focus on small wins
Big transformations happen through small, consistent steps.
I genuinely care.
I want you to succeed—not just at work, but as a human being.
You don't need to be a "perfect leader."
You just need to be willing to grow.
I'll help you with the rest.
A Simple, Human Framework for Helping People Grow
QALMS isn’t magic.
It’s practical. It’s conversational. And it works.
We use QALMS to help leaders and employees develop through clarity and small, meaningful actions.

What we ask opens the door to discovery. Leaders learn to ask questions that create insight instead of anxiety.

Activities
Simple actions done inside a coaching conversation to help people practice thinking, noticing, and reflecting.

Learning
Small, manageable challenges that help people stretch their skills between coaching conversations.

Motivators
We connect growth to personal goals—so development feels relevant and energizing.

Supplemental
Follow-through, encouragement, and accountability so progress doesn't disappear.
This model helps leaders lead with empathy and intentionality—one conversation at a time.
